Central London office market to be star performer
The West End and central London office markets will see unrivalled growth in 2011, far outstripping the City and regional office centres, buoyed by sustained occupier demand and a negligible development stream.
Walking round the West End you would be hard pressed to think we are in the worst recession since the 1930s. There is a buzz about the place – in the streets, in the bars and in the restaurants.
Demand for office space remains strong too. The West End has a diverse and eclectic occupier base. Media, fashion, IT, wealth management and even real estate all love to be based here – the latest expanding occupier Facebook is a fine example.
In a recent survey in Estates Gazette 11 out of 11 property pundits predicted central London is the market that would succeed this year.
