BP’s Bedfont Lakes move gives boost to south west London office market
Oil giant BP has exchanged contracts with Scottish Widows to base its 68,000 sq ft headquarters at New Square, Bedfont Lakes, near Heathrow, in what is a major confidence boost for the south west London office market.
BP will take buildings one, five and seven on the business park on a new 10-year lease, with a break option after five years, at £25 per sq ft. It is the largest office deal to be completed in the Heathrow area so far this year.
Paul Smith, office leasing expert at Bray Fox Smith says: “This deal has done much to restore confidence to the Heathrow office market. In spite to the current macro-economic situation it is pleasing to see a global business such as BP commit its future so positively.”
