Hanesbrands Plumps For Woking As UK HQ
Savills Investment Management, advised by Bray Fox Smith, has agreed a deal with American clothing company Hanesbrands for 7,727 sq ft of offices at 6 Church Street West in central Woking.
Hanesbrands, which employs 50,000 people internationally and whose vast clothing portfolio includes Wonderbra and Playtex, has signed a 10 year lease on part of the second floor. The deal includes a tenant only break at 5 years and 11 months rent free.
James Shillabeer at Bray Fox Smith comments, “Hanesbrands were not only attracted to the building, which has a newly refurbished reception area, but see Woking as a key South East office hub, due to its excellent rail and road links. There are some major occupiers in the town such as SAB Miller, Cap Gemini, WWF, Petrofac and Yum and it seems to be going from strength to strength.
“The area close to Church Street West is undergoing major improvements including 100,000 sq ft of new retail space at Victoria Square, a 170 bed hotel, 392 residential apartments, medical centre and two public plazas.”
The remainder of the second floor comprising 4,284 sq ft is still available.
